Our Mission

The Shelby County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association strengthens foster families through locally focused advocacy; training, education, publications, and networking among foster parents, Shelby County Department of Human Resources and other associated entities. Everything we do serves the best interest of children in the foster care system, from fulfillment of their spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs.

Our Purpose

To bring together foster parents, agency representatives and others in our community who wish to work to improve the foster care system and enhance the lives of children and families.

To promote mutual cooperation and communication among foster parents, foster parent associations, child care agencies and other child advocates to encourage the recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive parents.

Our Vision

A state where children feel loved and thrive, and caregivers are fully empowered and recognized as expert partners in fostering healthy families.
